though i am able to connect in sql*plus as user:sys pwd:sys connect string:oracl as sysdba , the same way however i am not able to conncet in reports and forms 9i.
Can anyone pls suggest as to how i can connect as sys in reports?

I'd suggest you NOT to do that. SYS is not supposed to be used as someone's playground. Create another user (by the way, what's wrong with Scott's or HR schema?) and test your skills there. Otherwise, you might find yourself in trouble.

Hi Siri

This might help:

find the file tnsnames.ora in your oracle 9i developer suite folder. In that you have to set the database link to your current database path and name.
