Are you downloading files by their names, or are you interested in a certain Oracle product? From my point of view, it would be easier if your question was (for example) "I'd like to download Developer Suite 10g"; then we'd know where to search for it.

As of file names, I don't know any other way than trying to "guess" what it might be about (10201_gateways_win32.zip suggests that it is about Gateways 10g R2), so - go to Downloads section of the Oracle Technology Network and find the file you are interested in.

10201_gateways_win32.zip can be found here.

Yes indeed, 10g would be a nice start.

But, what GATEWAYS have to do with you and your first steps with Oracle?
Oracle
Oracle Database Gateways address the needs of disparate data access. In a heterogeneously distributed environment, Gateways make it possible to integrate with any number of non-Oracle systems from an Oracle application. They enable integration with data stores such as DB2, SQL Server and Excel, transaction managers like CICS and message queuing systems like WebSphere MQ.

Why wouldn't you rather choose 10g Express Edition, for example?

Where did you get this filename (10201_gateways_win32.zip) from, anyway?

We do have a PMS (Doctors) Delphi/Paradox.

There are several options to work with but Oracle seems to be for me the best option.

Question is how much can this cost?

Scenario 1 : We use IB with Oracle gateway >>> Oracle.
Scenario 2 : We use Oracle

50 Doctors?
100 Doctors?
300 Doctors?
1000 Doctors?
3000 Doctors using the system?

What can be the cost involved here, do you have any idea.

If you recommend the 10g Express edition, where can this be found on the Oracle website?

Thanks in advance.

Lieven

Oh, I see.

Well, if you told us all of that in your first post, I wouldn't be that puzzled. But never mind that.

Oracle 10g Express Edition (XE) can be found here. It is completely free of charge; it has, though, some limitations (check XE homepage). Probably the most interesting one is a limit of 4GB of user's data. Once you reach that limit, you'll have to purchase a licence for a "full" Oracle database edition (Standard, for example).

How much would it cost? XE is free, as I've said - no matter how many "doctors" (users) you have. I wouldn't know how much you'd have to pay for other Oracle products - you'll have to contact Oracle Sales representative in your country.
