CHRT command

I've mentioned chrt command in another post. Since the version 2.6.23. Linux has its own version of the venerable Solaris priocntrl command. The command is called "chrt" and the manual page should be available on all RH 5.x and later system. It's a backport, of course.

This allows setting the real time priority for LGWR or VirtualBox processes and it can make quite a difference. Of course, the standard warning about playing with the priorities of the oracle processes is still valid: don't do it, unless you really, really know what are you doing and what are the ramifications.
