Yes.

Depends. You need to search of the quarterly updates.

Be sure you practice several times on a test machine before touching production and on production, make sure you not only have a full backup, but make sure you can restore from it.

One of my clients, two months ago, did everything right except test their backup. It was rather ugly. (vendor update not an Oracle update).
