Paul, as Sybrand said a non-unique index can be used to support a PK or
UK constraint since version 8.0 when the use of deferred constraints
was introduced.



When you dropped the Siebel index did you verify that the constraint
that the index apparently supports was properly intact after your
drop/recreate?
