ASM instances do not have a data dictionary, as stated in administrator's guide. Therefore my initial idea of change a user's password in the ASM instance was wrong, as this user just does not exist. You can only connect to an ASM instance as administrator via operating system authentication or password file. Furthermore my approach that the ASM instance has it's "own" enterprise manager was also wrong, as management of ASM is part of the database instances enterprise manager.
