Hello, Martijn,
i've solved my problem simply by change of X Server. I'm not sure , what is exactly the cause of this behaviour however. My initial setup (not working ) was a FC3 box, i've accessed via NX client (http://www.nomachine.com ), from there an xterm to the Oracle Server box - i've never had problems with such config until yesterday. Now i installed a local X Server ( http://www.pexus.com ) and forwarded a PuTTy session to it - worked flawlessly. The common thing in your and my problem - FC3 XWindow, so i hope , you can solve it as well if you switch to another X Server ( should not necessarily be the one on Windows plattform, but in my case it worked).

Good luck.
