I didn't say Oracle has no technical merit. I merely pointed out that on its own merits, for the money, it is not as good as it could or should be. This can be qualified by simply comparing it to comparable products.

I also pointed out that many in your camp are enamored with the glow of Oracle marketing. It can be blinding to be too closely aligned with one product, believe me, it can really be debilitating. Which means I'm open to hearing about Oracle as a software product, but I'm just not so confident that it will be easy to use, nor do I believe for the time and money that I would invest in it that it would be worth the trouble when, due to my sheer laziness, I could use something else that would do the job the same or better. Honestly, I'm just interested in making money, not spending a lot of time or money on software I don't need. Oracle makes me tired too.

But to say it's meaningless negates even your own statements, is this what you really want? Reason has meaning inherently, so you contradict yourself, I'd hate to see that happen intentionally. Maybe we could work on leaving out the meaninglessness part in our next session.

Hmmmm... I'll have to get back with you I'm still thinking. I wasn't aware of a few things--I have to process this and really really think hard now. It might put me to sleep so be prepared for that. Received on Tue Nov 29 2005 - 22:39:41 CST
