Be sure the last export file has something like EXIT
EXIT
at the end. I've seen situations where an export file gets truncated and you get weird things happening, though usually imp gives some error. How big are your export files? (Exactly 2G, for example, would be very suspicious - try making filesize smaller).

You probably should be opening a support log for this.
