In 10g there's a whole stack of timezone related features - you can store timestamps with or without time zones, and with or without conversion - lookup TIMESTAMP [WITH [LOCAL] TIME ZONE] in Chapter 2 of the SQL Reference.

Storing timestamps "with local time zone" will convert the data on retrieval to the client's time zone; you can store 9am BST, and someone in Germany will retrieve this as 10am CET. Received on Thu Nov 03 2005 - 05:12:33 CST
