This thread is just bizarre.

Many people do use oracle databases to store xml.

For example, in the real world many businesses have an actual business need to retain/store xml data that is sent out by their company.

Should it be stored somewhere external to a database or should it be stored within a database? Obviously the correct answer is "it depends".

But for many people a valid decision would be to store the xml within oracle as xml. Case closed.

Many of the people in this thread seem to have some real or perceived issues with storing xml in oracle. Why would oracle create such an ability if it was not based on customer demand and the need to keep oracle database technology current?

Let's keep the discussion civil and professional if we can.

For some of the posters in this thread to imply that they have the only correct answer and that other people need education is somewhat amusing.

Is it only a matter of time on this thread for the bestower of the title of Oracle Scientist wades in? Received on Sun Mar 13 2005 - 12:31:06 CST
