If you are making "hot" backup you will need at least one archive log
file to make media recovery.



You can configure autobackup for controlfiles,  or use correct sequence
for files. First backup database( or adtafile ), after you must backup
controlfiles , and after them you must backup ( or copy ) archivelog
files.
