We have migrated away from vxfs completely. (we are soon moving away from veritas as a whole) It has gotten to the point where the problems outweigh the costs and benefits with their software. I honestly have yet to see any shop where vxfs provided a measureable performance increase.

Right now all our databases use either raw or ufs with logging (solaris 9). Our SLES systems use ext3.

Most of the time you can alleviate I/O bottlenecks using better schema layout, better SQL, and better segregation of oracle objects onto different drive spindles. The performance gains in this regard are larger and cheaper than vxfs.
