Historically the biggest problem with companies writing code for Linux has been how rapid and drastic glibc changes from release to release. That has always been the major issue with Oracle on Linux. I personally think Oracle does an awesome job in keeping up and now that each vendor has an 'enterprise supportable' server product, it makes it easier for companies to develop products for Linux.

If you think about solaris or hpux or any others, think about how drastic and rapid changes to libc came. Orders of magnitude slower than the rate you see from Linux. Received on Wed Mar 02 2005 - 15:15:16 CST
