I'd have to agree in general.
When oracle pulls crap like pushing back de-support of 8.1.7 for an
entire year (yes, I am STILL irked about that one) less than 3 months
before the end of support date, one is temped to avoid an entire
release, and go straight from 8.1.7.4.outdated to 10.1.stable.
Unless of couse, you are the one that is creating billable hours off of the churn to 9.0.1 to 9.2.0.4 to 9.2.0.5 to 10.1.0.3 ...
