Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> Porting proC from Solaris to Linux
Hello,
My company has been running Oracle under Solaris. We now want to try the same databases and apps under Linux. We will be using Red Hat Enterprise 3 and Oracle 9.2.0.4.
The scary part of the effort is some proC code. We tried to make the port with earlier versions of Red Hat and Oracle, but things did not work out well. Now I have to try again.
Has anyone had experience with the newer versions of Red Hat and Oracle? I wonder if there is a supported choice of C/C++ compilers to use?
The network folks won't have the system will be ready for a few days, so I can't see which versions of compilers that are native to this version of Red Hat.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
