You're right, that wouldn't persuade me, either. "rkusenet" posted a query about this (title "Microsoft and SAP") in microsoft.public.sqlserver.server and three people (one note signed Kalen Delaney; a name MS SQL Server users may recognize) have responded emphatically that MS is in fact running their SAP on SQL Server. But I don't suppose that will persuade you, either.
I think a little risk-analysis is in order. If they are using Oracle and lie about it, is that a bigger deal than using Oracle and saying nothing about it? Yes.
