I haven't seen any manual installs. The closest thing I've seen to a manual install is to tar up $ORACLE_HOME on one server and move it to another server, but that's after it has been installed on the first one.

Have you look at Howard's article on http://www.dizwell.com for installing Oracle on Linux? While not specific to Fedora Core 1, it does have lots of nice information.

256MB of RAM is probably not enough. The bare minimum I would use would be 512MB or RAM.

You can ignore these errors, but then the Intelligent Agent most likely won't work until you do recompile the executables. This can be done with the 'relink' utility.
