Hey - I know that guy. Sometimes, he actually knows what he is talking
about.
I'd seriously consider trying 9.2 on the latest patchset prior to
doing battle on 8.1.7.3.x.
Then again, if you _know_ that you must use 5 GB of memory under the
oracle.exe process, but cannot get it to work on w2k advanced server,
maybe - just maybe, you might want to consider a different operating
system.
