Hi:
Since our last cold backup something with the dbms_jobs seems to be
wrong.
I cannot figure what.
All de jobs are queued in the dba_jobs table with broken = 'N' and
failures = null. But for some reason they do not run. They just stay
there waiting for the ora_snpXX_sid to picke them up!!!
My initSID.ora has the following lines
JOB_QUEUE_INTERVAL = 10
JOB_QUEUE_PROCESSES = 3
However ps -fea | grep ora_snp didnīt show any ora_snpXX_sid processes
running. So I issued
alter system JOB_QUEUE_PROCESSES = 9;
and now I have
nautilus:/oracle/app/oracle/product/8.0.5/dbs>ps -fea | grep ora_snp
oracle 11872 4357 0 10:29:18 pts/1 0:00 grep ora_snp oracle 1906 1 0 16:23:29 ? 0:00 ora_snp4_produ oracle 6221 1 0 09:38:08 ? 0:00 ora_snp6_produ oracle 6225 1 0 09:38:09 ? 0:00 ora_snp8_produ oracle 1904 1 0 16:23:29 ? 0:00 ora_snp3_produ oracle 1908 1 0 16:23:30 ? 0:00 ora_snp5_produ oracle 6223 1 0 09:38:08 ? 0:00 ora_snp7_produ
It dinīt work so far. And the jobs are still waiting in line.
Any help would be greatly appreciated since this is a porduction database and I donīt want to bounce it.
