Good, I write to you because I have a problem of space because of files logs. More than for 8 months I have been having the data base working in archive_log=enable and is generating me daily enough files. The problem is that watching the documentation I see that to make backup in hot it is necessary to copy all files log (and if the data base is of 6 Gb files log are of 14Gb). It wanted to ask if I can eliminate archive_log and begin backups in hot from now on or must warn Oracle that files log I am going to eliminate them. Considering that the data base is perfect and I will not need to recover nothing of the past.

Hmm. Babelfish leaves alot to be desired, I'm afraid.

Joan,

Would you care to touch up the spanish => english translation, please? It sounds as if you are attempting to use RMAN, not a scripted hot backup job.

gracias,
