Hi,

I definately recommend administering via the command line becuase the GUI adds an extra layer of complexity that you want to avoid. OEM hides all the details and can lead to mistakes (which you dont need in a Disaster Recovery situation).

I am very impressed with both RAC and Data Guard in 9i but like you say they are not 100% bug proof yet. I'm quite surprised that Oracle are releasing 10i next month before stablising the current release...

Logical standby is a great idea but implementing it is quite involved in comparison to a physical standby. I was asked to implement logical for a customer but their database makes extensive use of LONGs which arent supported by any of the recent oracle technology (like replication and log miner, etc)

Cheers
