no.
I was just kicking around the idea that there would be a sufficient number of log groups that they would not be overwritten during the course of the day.
I was not making any recommendations whatsoever.

hourly log switches is usually fine with me. multiplexed redo logs on separate mount points lowers your blood pressure by 5 points.
