Haven't seen this (I am using it on RH AS 2.1).

You can't even ask Oracle Support to help you resolve it because 9iAS Rel 2 is only certified on RedHat AS 2.1 and SLES7. RH 7.1 will never be certified.

Maybe you can install it on a certified platform (for RH AS 2.1, some patches must be applied prior to installation, as mentioned in the Certification part of Metalink). If it reproduces, it's an issue...
