The transparency of the NT compression is appealing, however I get a bit concerned that the compression at the NT level will be different than the compression at the tape backup unit level, and therefore I'd run out of tape.

I just purchased Winzip 8.1, and it DOES include command-line processing, and it DOES handle files that are already open.

I'm in the process of re-setting up my scripts at this point. I'll let y'all know when it's done.
