You can use datafile from cold backup and apply archive logs to it.

Subject: Recovery Question

We have a small database in archiving mode. We do a cold backup on Sunday
night and hot backups getting all the datafiles and archives all other nights. If at 11 am on Monday morning we lose a datafile, can I restore that datafile from the previous nights cold backup and then recover the morning's transactions with the archived logs generated since then? Or can
I not use datafiles backed up cold with archived logs?

Thanks.
