Oracle must own the directory structure containing the Oracle software, all control files, log files, and tablespaces.

Just go to your current mount point. Create a directory for the Oracle software and another for the tablespaces and make Oracle the owner. PS: you need to create two groups ... DBA and OINSTALL. Make sure you follow all of the directions including changes to /etc/system.
