Hi
the scripts did indeed generate my second database BUT it will not open properly on restart due to conflicting with my first database (it appears both the pfile and the pwdfile)?

pfile i can get around by manually doing the startup and specifying its name and location (after running SET INSTANCE) but ideally i want to do this automatically. The pwd file i have no idea yet!!

I am going to try for a third small database done completely by the wizard to see what happens.

Any ideas gratefully received

Who says NT is easy

btw does anyone know where any NT specific info is (apart from release notes)

Cheers
Mark
