Hello Jason !

One possible way to backup your Database is to use the rman utility provided by Oracle. This tool is very great. My database is 1,5 Terabyte and the backup ( with 24 Channels ) needs only 15 Hours to complete. That´s 100 GB per Hour ( 4 Tape Devices ). Great work Oracle !!!
