A year ago I went to an Oracle organised upgrade course. The instructor
labeled Oracle 8 'Oracle 7.4'. According to him, the differences between 8.0
and 8i are considerably bigger.
If I have to advise customers, I keep in mind
- do they really need the internet functions
- do they have sufficient dba skills
If both of these questions have to be answered negatively, I advise them to
postpone 8i for a while and go to 8.0 first.
