ORAN8.DLL Access violation

I have an NT4.0 server with sp5 running Oracle8i, IIS and MTS. The MTS (Microsoft transaction server) components were running very slowly, 5 seconds per transaction. Without going through MTS, it is about one second per transaction.

I loaded SQL Server7.0 on the server and it did 3 transactions per second. When I un-installed SQL Server, the Oracle DB no longer works if I use the server's ODBC (MS ODBC for Oracle) to access the DB. The message is 'Access violation' and it points to ORAN8.DLL. I can still access the DB using SQLPlus from any machine on the network.

Does anyone know what is going on?

Thanks for your help and please e-mail me a copy of your answer to tdiep_at_interlog.com
