MS ODBC connections have vanished with 8.1.6 - Help

Thanks in advance.

I have 8.0.5 on x:\orant and 8.1.6 on y:\oracle8i.

After installing 8.1.6, any connections attempted using Microsoft's ODBC driver fail and I get an
"Error while trying to retrieve text for error ORA-00000".

I assume there is some sort of configuration issue or some dll, etc got overwritten.

Any ideas?
