Re: ORA-12514

12154 is failed to resolve service name. Your tnsnames.ora is incorrect or you are using a different tnsnames.ora from the tnsnames.ora plus is using. You could try to set up the registry variable TNS_ADMIN to point to the tnsnames.ora you believe is correct and see what happens.
