Help!!!
I am trying to install Oracle8i on RedHat 6.1
However when I run ./runInstaller
I get the message
Error in CreateOUIProcess () : -1 : Bad Address
I have been on the following web site which has some
instructions for installing on Red Hat 6.0.
http://homepages.tig.com/~jmsalvo/linux/oracle8i-2.html
Although he admits he has not installed on RedHat 6.1 he
has 3 pointers
1. Use Gnome (get enlightenment-015.5-37.i386.rpm or higher)
Well, I would appear to have 41 and
I syill get the same problem
2. Use KDE instead
Well this was what I used initially, so no joy there 3. Run install/linux/runIns.sh instead
Well when executed I get
ldd: /usr/local/jre/bin/../bin/i686/native_threads/jre:
No such file or directory.
/usr/local/jre/bin/../bin/checkVersions: /tmp/ldd.out.232
Permission denied.
I have JRE 116V5 downloaded from Blackdown.org and after
investigating, it is correct I do not have a
native_threads directory under jre/bin, I do have a
green_threads.
Where do I go from here?
