Re: Optimizing snapshot creation

I've read about anther cheat too (was just thinking if I can avoid 'cheating' with a product that costs so much)

Create a new user on the MASTER db, with all the needed DB_LINKS etc. (also tnsnames.ora will probobly have to be the same as with local db). Create a snapshot in a new schema, imp/exp to the local DB.

Yours sounds like a quicker solution, but I think the one I read about takes care of the fast refresh (we are a 24/7 environment).
