Hi.

I have the following problem - using Oracle 8.1.5 on NT4.

The OracleService<sid> service is starting up on bootup, but when I highlight it, the "stop" option remains unavailable to me (i.e. it is greyed-out).

All other services are fine. This only happended this evening. A DBA was starting the service, it ws taking ages, and he eventually decided to abort it by clicking the "X" on the "starting" dialog window.
Ever since, the "stop" option is not available to us on that service. I rebooted the server, but still the same problem

The service is started, since we are able to start and connect to the datbase instance.

Any ideas??

Please
