OAS install 4.0.7 on Linux, owsctl seg faults

Hello.

I was able to successfully go through the OAS 4.0.7 install on Linux 2.0.36. During the post installation steps, I found I could not start the web components (ORB,WRB,etc) through the OAS manager screen oasmgr.html . When I tried to start them externally with

      > owsctl start

I get a *segmentation fault*. I am only able to start and stop the admin listener with

>owsctl start -nodemgr

but any other calls will seg fault.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is driving me crazy.
