I would make sure that you have your user accounts and tablespaces set up with the same names before you do your migration. That way you won't have all your tables and indexes in one tablespace--your default.

If you're moving from an Oracle 8 database, you need to use the exp73 utility for compatibility.

If you want to do this in manageable chunks, you might want to do your exports schema-by-schema. There's no sense in migrating SYS or SYSTEM, unless you've done some development in there (bad idea).
