7.3.4.0.1 is the version of choice for Version 7. 7.1 -not Y2k supported 7.1 - unable to resize datafiles, unable to use unlimited extents. 7.3.3 and up has a different style of recovering upon startup.
8.0 is a different animal. Things I knowabout it:
Partitioned indexes and tables
New ROWID Format
New Security Features
Also remember, if you are running Oracle Ver 7 and you want to upgrade to
Oracle 8, make sure that all your applications (if any) do not refrence the
ROWID.
