I have just been told about a bug with oracle on HPUX that prevents oracle from using more than one processor on multi-processor HPUX machines. This may be your problem. "Contact your customer support"!

		HP 6-way T520
		HPUX 10.2
		Oracle 7.3.4

I am having the ora_s000_<instance> process running at
100% CPU utilization
on ONE of six cpu's yet others are available. Is there
a way to load balance
		this across other CPU's?

Would I have to go to HPUX 11.0 and implement threading?
If so, does it
require a newer version of Oracle?
