If cost is not an object, then double or tripple mirror your disks and don't bother with other forms of RAIDsets (like RAID 5 for example). Tripple mirroring has the advantage that you can break one of the disks away from the mirror sets and back it up without affecting the ongoing production operation of the remaining two (which still gives you failure protection).
