I am a computer science student at the University of North Carolina at Asheville. I am conducting a research project about change management and the transition to client/server technology. My goal is to identify some areas of difficulty organizations have experienced in transitioning to client/server technology and some of the techniques they have used to achieve a successful transition. I will gather data both from consultants who guide firms in making this transition and from firms which have migrated to client/server technology. This research is for academic purposes only and is not being conducted to support any particular company or product. Results may be published in the University's Journal of Undergraduate Research.

If you have participated as a consultant in a transition to client server technology within the last 24 months, I would like to learn about the successes and difficulties you experienced in that transition process. E-mail me at the address below to receive a short questionnaire about your experiences in transition(s) to client/server technology. Your name and the name of your organization will be kept confidential. In return for your participation, YOU WILL RECEIVE A COPY OF THE STUDY RESULTS.

Thank you for your time. Please participate or refer this message to someone who can. The success of this project will depend on an adequate response to the survey.

                    Thank you,

                    Carol Johnston
