I hopped on metalink using a support contract from work. I saw the reports. Curiously enough, after drilling down for a bit, Oracle's suggested work around is to filter the load indicator messages out of the alert logs. That's pretty funny!

I am planning on upgrading my 8.1.5 database sometime in the future. Hopefully, sometime in the next couple of weeks/months, I'll be able to get a second system that I can play around with different versions, upgrade paths, etc. I'm a little hesitant to upgrade on the current system as I'm running my time tracking system off of it (oracle/perl/ cgi app). I'd be a bit bummed if that were unavailable for any length of time...

Thanks again for the responses and help. I appreciate it.

Doug
