Oracle Database Architect

Responsibilities:
Will be responsible for the overall design and development of our Oracle database. Specific responsibilities include; creating database standards for global data requirements, maintaining and extending database schema for Internet based applications, performance monitoring and tuning, working closely with engineers in multiple locations to create efficient solutions, working with DBA
on maintenance issues, evaluating database Oracle tools/packages/platforms and planning and executing all data migration efforts.

Qualifications:
Requires 6+ years of RDBMS development, with a minimum of two solid years of Oracle experience. Must have demonstrated success with performance tuning and capacity planning of large production databases. Proficiency with UNIX (Linux) and NT; familiarity with programming languages, Perl and web experience are preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. E-Commerce experience a plus. BS in Computer Science or engineering discipline preferred.

Attributes:
Must be highly motivated and able to solve difficult problems, as the job carries a high degree of responsibility for the proper functioning of our data warehouse.

This position will report directly to the CIO. Candidate must be willing to work for a growth company, which can be sometime hectic. The right candidate will have a mix of great technical skills, as well as good interpersonal and communication skills. However, the Technical skills are most important. This is a great opportunity to make direct and recognized contributions to an established internet services company. It is a global company, and they are in a new product development cycle. This candidate will be a key player in the oracle databse architecture. This candidate should be able to lead initiatives. Will also lead effort to database large amount of internet based text material.

Content & Quant experience are desired.

Compensation consists of 80% base and 20% bonus. Total comp for this position will be between 80-low 100s / per year. They will also get stock options in an established internet company, great benefits and a competitve 401(k).
