Takes Double Honors -- InterSystems User Wins Project of the Year
CAMBRIDGE, MA October 28, 1998 -- Post-relational database specialist InterSystems Corporation today announced that its flagship database management system, Caché, has won the Best New Database Product at this year's Information Management Awards (IM98). InterSystems user Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals NHS Trust also won Project of the Year for its InterSystems-based application, Oxford Clinical Intranet.
Sponsored by Deloitte & Touche Consulting Group, the IM98 Awards are top European industry recognition of the achievement of excellence in the field of information management. They are designed to recognize and showcase the best solutions in both established and emerging information management technologies.
InterSystems' Caché was one of four finalists nominated for the Best New Database Award. The judges selected Caché for its unique multidimensional model, Web scalability, and performance in handling complex transactions, as well as its rapid market acceptance.
Caché user Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals NHS Trust also won the prestigious Deloitte & Touche Project of the Year Award for its Oxford Clinical Intranet project. By linking previously incompatible departmental systems via Caché WebLink, InterSystems' web technology, the project‘s implementation enabled the hospital to access more than 390,000 test results each year.
