Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.misc -> ALTER DATABASE CLEAR LOGFILE?
I was going through some manuals explaining features of Oracle 7.3, and I came
across this:
ALTER DATABASE CLEAR LOGFILE It is now possible to reinitialize redo log files during recovery. For example: ALTER DATABASE CLEAR UNARCHIVED LOGFILE ’somefile’ UNRECOVERABLE DATAFILE;
What does it mean and what situation will prompt me to take this action?
Thanks,
Satar
