Yes, actually, there is an easy way to backup a tablespace. The way I would do
it (for me the Oracle Database resides on a Unix machine) is to use the Oracle
Backup Manager. This comes with the Oracle client software. With the Backup
Manager you can use the Backup Tablespace Wizard and it will do the rest. It
will allow you to backup a tablespace to tape or to a directory. This seems to
be the easiest way I have found..
