Yeah, Brent is great too (free videos online also). Whichever course is nearer/best matching of the two would be good.

Alternatively, for self-study Microsoft have these videos for an intro for Oracle DBAs:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sqlserver/dd548020.aspx

http://www.microsoftvirtualacademy.com/training-courses/sql-server-2014-essentials-for-oracle-dbas

Then there's various $charged videos online to go beyond that (PluralSight & CBT Nuggets for example).

http://sqlbits.com/ has lots of videos avaiable for free also (as does Brent Ozar & some others).

Mike

To add to this, my company also offers video and in person training: http://www.brentozar.com/training/

We have one training coming up this fall in Philadelphia.

All of the in-person presenters are MVPs, two of us are MCMs (equivalent of the Oracle Master certification), and I think our blog speaks for itself, much like the SQLskills blog.

Since Coll-Barth is also looking I will re-send my initial (private) email:

If you want face-to-face training then there's little doubt that the best training provider is http://www.sqlskills.com/sql-server-training/
Look to their Immersion Event's:
"IE0: Immersion Event for the Junior/Accidental DBA" is the choice for new comers to SQL Server

I haven't had their courses myself (I live in the UK) but I'm counting the days until they return to the UK to do the IE1 course.

You can review each of their blogs on the site to see the kind of details they go into. They also did the OCM equivalent readiness videos for Microsoft: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sqlserver/ff977043.aspx -- these are free to watch and give an example of the details they can go into

All of their members are also MVPs (equivalent of Oracle ACE/ACED).

Mike
