RE: Oracle Client not passing Windows Domain portion of connect info ?

You are getting quite good suggestions. Based on my experience with AD servers, just ensure that entry for domain server must be the first entry in your DNS table specially on server side. It may be added on your Windows client side as well and it should be your first entry there.  

It was a known issue that you were required to provide password for sys account even the account was part of ORA_DBA group and authentication set to NTS.
