Well, I'm always in favor of killing Grid Control, but in this case, I hope it works for you. I don't think we've had any problems, certainly in newer releases. Linux p2v is much more straightforward than windows as well.

This looks like it should do what I'm looking for. The datasheet they
have
shows why our local VMWare expert would not have known about using this
for
Linux, since the purchased Management Server version only seems to
support
converting Win servers for some reason.
